A Letter From My Father

Dear child,

You are not alone. Sometimes it may feel that way, but I will always be there to forgive, comfort, and heal you. It breaks my heart to see your pain, but I can’t take it away until you give it up. As long as you hold onto your heart, your life will be out of control. If you trust your life to me, your life will become a beautiful work of love; woven perfectly by my hands.

I have seen your fear; your worry that you will miss open doors or open ones that aren’t meant for you. Leave that to me.  All the doors that aren’t for you, are firmly locked and bolted.  My timing is perfect. You will not accidentally mess up my will for you.

I give you the choice to hand the key of your heart to me. I promise to always protect and cherish you. In me, you will always find the love you long for. In me, there is always true peace and freedom.

With Love,

Your Heavenly Father

The One Word of Kindness Challenge

I’m not the person to go around chewing on people. When I hurt other people, I feel it. But sometimes what stings more that a harsh word is silence. People begin to wonder if you think that they or what they do is boring, not good enough, or silly. I’ve certainly been in that spot. That feeling that no matter what I did, it went unnoticed. We’ve all been there at some point. And all we wanted was a word of encouragement, affirmation, or just a kind word that told us that we were thought of.

The One Word of Kindness Challenge

Okay, so since we all understand the feeling of being alone, hurt, or mistrusted, let’s turn that around. We can’t really change what other people say to us, but we can change what we say to others. Each word we speak is our own choice. Continue reading “The One Word of Kindness Challenge”

Something to Live By

I love my new studio. I plan to do a whole introductory post of the LoveNotes Studio of Fine Arts sometime soon. It’s a little log building under persimmon trees (yum!). We began building it in 2012, but didn’t finish until this year. I’m so super  excited to be using it for all my school, music study, artwork, and blogging. It is the  place where my mind runs free. It is my own spot and I love it.

All my favorite decorations reside there including a frame which contains the words below. It hangs above my desk and is an inspiring reminder for me every time I go in there.

The Sunflower Fields {Pictures}

I’ve been long in getting around to sharing these pictures, but late is better than never, right? Sunflowers are so pretty. Kinda western and rustic. I love looking at them and found out I also enjoy taking pictures of them too. 😉 Not far from where I live there are 9 fields of sunflowers. People flock to these places in mid summer to take photos and enjoy the beauties. I visited with two of my brothers one beautiful evening.

Flowers are so fun to photograph. They’re so intricate and delicate. They add beauty all around us with their cheery little faces. Continue reading “The Sunflower Fields {Pictures}”

How to Know if You’re a Creative Person

Have you ever wondered if you’re a creative person? Maybe you’ve always questioned your creative abilities or maybe you’re the person who wants to prove that you do have them.

First off, I’m going to clarify some things that are often confused. Creativity and talent are thought to be pretty much the same thing. And while they are close relatives, they are different. Talent is when you can do a certain thing very well and better than the average person. Creativity is “the use of the imagination or original ideas, especially in the production of an artistic work.” (Oxford Dictionaries)

So actually, in a lot of situations, creativity and talent are not particularly together at all.

So… how do you find out if you’re a creative person??

Okay, guys I have a little quiz for to do. Fool proof. If you fail… (Well, let’s talk about that later.. 😉 ). All you need is to get all the answers correct. Take a deep breath, relax! You’re going to do this! Continue reading “How to Know if You’re a Creative Person”

Anabaptist Orchestra Camp 2017 (Vlog)

What?? Me doing a vlog? Yup. Okay, it’s my first published one, so bear with me. 🙂 I had fun doing it and I hope ya’ll enjoy it, too.

I recently attended the Anabaptist Orchestra Camp as  a “non-participating member” (i.e. I didn’t play in the orchestra). I enjoyed it thoroughly and came away very inspired. You can check out my photography post of the weekend here where I describe a lot more about the weekend! For now, let’s get on with the video:
