Who likes to live burned out and exhausted? Yeah, I didn’t think anyone did. 😉 Maybe you always feel the need to hurry or you can never get everything done. Sound familiar? Then these tips should help you out!
1. Wake Up Earlier
This has had an amazing impact on my own life. Having an extra half hour or hour in the morning will allow you to feel like you are in control your day rather than your day controlling you.
Make sure you are still getting seven to eight hours of sleep every night. You may need to adjust a little and go to bed earlier too (It isn’t as hard as you think!).
2. Take ten minutes to relax/reflect/pray
Put away your phone or computer or whatever your mind is on, and make the time to totally chill out for ten minutes. This is a great thing to do early in your morning. Refresh you mind and inner self, and you’ll find your brain and body much more inspired, refreshed, and equipped for the great day ahead.
I’m not kidding, exercising has been proven to increase energy levels. Sounds crazy, but it is so true. Once again, the morning is the best time to do it, but after work is fine too. It doesn’t have to be a long or dramatic workout routine, just a short walk or run, a few stretches or whatever works for you. Read more on that in this recent post!
4. Plan Your Computer/Phone Time
It’s incredible how much time can slip by while we’re on our gadgets literally doing nothing. Try making a schedule of when you will use those items. See how it works for a few days. You’ll be amazed and won’t ever want to look back!
5. Create Your Own Schedule
The previous tip fits right into this one! You can enter your own schedule into a planner (there are sooo many great ones out there, but you can start looking here!) or you can simply write it down on a piece of paper and post it somewhere where you can see it regularly.
Don’t be too strict on yourself, use the schedule simply as a guideline. You may find that you have a lot of time that you didn’t know you had (that happened to me!). If you have the opposite problem, prioritize. Prioritizing should help bring things into focus of what is most important in your life. A disorganized life is overwhelming and exhausting. I think we’ve all been there! Definitely try to get somewhat organized, even if you do nothing else!
6. Keep Your Space Cleaned Up
I love this one so much (I also talked about it here). Your house doesn’t have to be perfectly clean every single living moment. The object is to get rid of the extra clutter. You don’t need it in your life. A clean space will make you feel less burdened and hurried. AND it boosts your confidence – I’m not joking!
7. Get Rid of/Donate What You Don’t Need
Just cleaned up and have things you never use and don’t have a place to put them? Or maybe you have waayyy too many clothes in your closet that you never wear – just because. I’m sure there’s someone else out there that would love your extra things. As the they say, one man’s junk is another man’s treasure! Wouldn’t you love some more closet space anyway? 🙂
I hope these seven tips help you gain confidence and live freer than you thought possible. Sometimes it’s the small things that make the difference!
