#Inktober Adventure: Handwriting

Most years I get just almost a little annoyed at fall. Why? Because it means that winter is coming. And in Maryland, winter means cold weather. Months of it. And I really don’t like being too cold. But in reality, I love fall its self. I love the crisp (but not too cold) weather and bright colors and leaves falling and the smell of wood smoke in the air and cinnamon scented candles… and fall outfits (don’t get me started on that!) Another exciting thing about fall? Inktober!

Officially speaking, Inktober is where artists all over the world, take on the challenge of creating a piece of artwork done with ink, every single day for the month of October and post it on social media with the hashtag, #Inktober. It’s a pretty cool trend. Drawing every day stimulates the mind and helps it become more creative.

Obviously, I haven’t shared anything for the first half of October. Mostly because I’ve been busy working on a new mini course that will be coming out sometime in the near future. I’m not setting any deadlines yet, but I’ll keep y’all updated! That doesn’t necessarily mean I didn’t create any ink projects (though I’ll admit it wasn’t every day!) during that time. I have been trying out my skills with handwritten quotes and words. It’s extremely popular, so I decided to try it. It is so much fun and not difficult at all. I think just about anyone can do it.

There are so many things I want to try and develop with ink beyond quotes and words. Portraits, bullet journaling and organizers/planners, and devotional journaling are the main ones. We’ll see which ones I get accomplished. 🙂

The cool thing about handwriting is, if you mess up, it’s okay. Most handwriting techniques aren’t meant to be perfect. In fact, if they aren’t perfect, it adds so much character to it. Your own touch.

I hope y’all enjoyed some of my successes (well, I humbly think they turned out well. 😉 ) from the beginning of Inktober.
