I’d dare say that the implications of this week’s quote comes a little closer to home than some of us would admit, because most of us are procrastinators! 🙂 Putting off until tomorrow what can and should be done today, is a bad end to the day and gives a surprisingly (if I may even use that word!) limp boost to tomorrow. You know what I’m talking about – just do it!
Hello, ladies! I’m incredibly excited to bring you the first installment of the Vibrant Womanhood Bible study series. The first of hopefully many more to come! I will be sharing my heart, lots of scripture, prayers, and inspiration to help you live in Vibrant Womanhood! It’s also a sisterhood here, not just me talking. Let’s all join in and share our thoughts, prayers, and encouragement with one another in the comment section. Let it be a circle of Vibrant Womanhood!
Though this is specifically for ladies, guys are welcome to read along as well. Grab your your prayer or devotional journal and Bible (I will be sharing references so that you can look them up for yourself!), curl up and dig in! Continue reading “The Confidence of Christ | Vibrant Womanhood”
Somehow this fast approaching holiday (tomorrow!) is going to bring about roses, red and pink, hearts, and fuzzy feelings. It’s such an adorable time, and I’m even single. Yup, I’m not thinking about having a valentine just quite yet – I’m only seventeen, people!
I imagine there’s a lot more of you like me who are single or going to be alone on Valentine’s Day and not quite sure what to do. If this day is all about romance, and I don’t have any in my life, I may as well sit around and binge watch movies (and finish off a bag of those delectable BBQ chips in the cupboard!). While I might do that, I’d love to do something else and I’m sure you want to as well!
Don’t worry! I’ve scraped together a few ideas for you to do. Maybe, just maybe, this Valentine’s Day isn’t going to be so bad after all. In fact, it’s starting to get quite rosy. 🙂
#1 Pamper Yourself
Grab a few roses, light some candles, and run a bath of herbs or your favorite bubbles. Put a few rose petals on the water to add an extra romantic atmosphere. It’s not about the “love myself” trend, but a beautiful evening of beautiful relaxation. We need those moments, you need those moments! You’ll be pampered from the tips of your toes to the crown of your head. Continue reading “What to do on Valentine’s Day | Single’s Edition”
Quotes are popular, inspiration is popular, and there is certainly a reason for both! Psychology says that just by smiling, you will instantly feel a little better. I’ve even tried it to alleviate pain and it works ways faster than any medication! Inspirational quotes come in somewhere close to the smile. There are sooo many quotes out there, lists and lists of them. Not all of them are awesome, so I thought it’d be great to pick out the best ones and lighten up your heavy daily loads with a weekly quote – the ones that are like gold nuggets of inspiration and cheer!

Staying positive and feeling happy from the inside out is something that is hard to come by when we feel bored, lifeless, rejected, passionless, and the list goes on and on. You get the idea. Every day brings it’s craziness and trials and troubles. That’s a taste of life. But we don’t have to live in this zombie-like state. It is totally possible to live a powerful and meaningful life. The greatest joy you can ever have in life, is when Jesus is living in you and his love just wells up within and comes out in the most beautiful ways. Jesus is beautiful and makes you beautiful. He brings healing to the most intimate parts of your soul. That’s why it’s possible to be happy even in the worst circumstances (Believe me, I’ve almost tried it. 😉 ).
With Jesus living within us, we still have “those moments”. We’re human and completely capable of feeling grumpy and sad all over again. Circumstances can be overwhelming and it’s okay to cry. The best way to overcome pain, sadness, boredom or whatever have you, is to remind ourselves of what is the most important thing in life:
We live in freedom from the bondage of sin and death; free to live in the deepest and clearest love imaginable – Jesus’ love. Continue reading “21 Ways to Stay Positive”
Hey y’all! I’ve organized a survey all about music in today’s Christian circles. As a passionate musician and Christian, I thought it’d be good to find out what music Christians are listening to, and how it affects them and their Church. It is open to anyone in any denomination or nondenominational, Conservative, Liberal, or “other”.
I’m hoping for at least 100 participants to make the survey more accurate, so please share with your friends and on social media! The more the merrier! 🙂
I will be posting the results here on the blog (and linking on social media). So stay tuned! Continue reading “Survey: Music in the Modern Christian World”
It was once said that it took 21 days to form a habit. Soon, that was lifted to 30 days and just recently it was discovered that it actually takes approximately 60 days to form a habit! There are a lot of habits that are easy to form and then stick with us for a very long time. Unfortunately, the easiest ones to form, also seem to be the not-so-good ones; you know, like not getting enough sleep (guilty here!). And… once these have become “normal”, they can be the most stubborn things to uproot.
Sixty days may seem like a long time (I mean, two months!), but in retrospect of an entire lifetime, it’s really quite small. In this post I’ll list 4 major (and very common!) habits that are very easily holding you back, and show you how to nix these habits so you can be well on your way to being the successful and creative person you were meant to be . Happy New Year, ya’ll! I’m super excited about 2018. I’m not much for ” new year resolutions” since I always fail them within three days. However this year, I’m doing something a little different. I’ve written down all my goals for 2018. Being able to look at the list as something to work towards rather than to change myself for is a much more inspiring focus! 🙂
2017 has been a great year over all. Yes, each year holds it’s own trials and troubles, but they dim when compared to all that we’ve learned, accomplished, and experienced. While I want to get on with the new year, I thought it’d be great to take a peak at the most loved blog posts of 2017. Which ones made it into the top 10? Check them out below! While today was supposed to be scheduled for another How to Draw episode, I thought it would be fun to interrupt with a sneak peak into what life looks like through my eyes and a “Quote of the Day”!
In addition to being a blogger, artist, singer/songwriter/composer/pianist, and the occasional dabbling with photography, I’m also a farm girl. Yes, I was born and raised on an organic pastured chicken farm. Quite the adventure! Like yesterday morning when I was milking the family cow, and she knocked the milker over and milk started spewing everywhere! 😛 Which brings us to the profound “Quote of the Day” that came to me after this particular incidence. 🙂
I’ve selected 10 semi random photos to share with ya’ll. A picture is worth a thousand words, right?! Continue reading “A Peek into My Life…”
Art journaling can be so much fun; a creative outlet of expression of the heart. It can be a completely personal and private thing, or something to share and shed light into someone else’s life; the perfect thing to do on a cozy winter evening, curled up in your favorite spot with a cup of hot tea.
Perhaps the best thing about art journaling is that it never has to look perfect. It can be something that is scrawled in five minutes or precisely drawn in 2+ hours. Whichever way, it’s fun.
Since you’re reading this, you probably wish to start art journaling or give an existing one a bit of a face-lift. I would love to share some simple tips that will help you to create something both beautiful and meaningful, to stay focused and inspired, and to find time to do it.
