We have heard of God as a Father and we as his children (the “sons of God”). How often do we think of it in that way in our hearts? Many know a Father as someone who doesn’t particularly care about them and perhaps is even angry and abusive. They don’t know what the real love of a dad can look like. When it comes to God, they don’t understand how he could be so good and be like a father.
But God really does show us what fathers should be like. In a fallen, broken, and imperfect world, we feel alone and sometimes hurt. In our brokenness we may lash out at God. But He isn’t standing there indifferently. He’s waiting with outstretched hands, waiting for us to come to him, to want him, and ask him to forgive us. My dear friend, he will forgive you and give you the most amazing peace and joy you’ve ever experienced; strength to conquer the trials in life. Continue reading “New Song: God’s Hurting Child”
After a very long (although, yet surprisingly short) year, I have finally completed my first choral composition. Starting out as a four part hymn, it includes a men’s verse and finishes with eight parts.
I kind of stepped out by writing two descants. The reason for that originally was because I wanted the highest to reach up to a D6 (which, for those who are wondering, is the first D above the treble staff). Most sopranos can’t do that so I added a second descant. Somehow in the editing process, they both got lowered, it’s better that way (maybe 😉 ). I am always excited when God gives me a new song to write down. I started composing last November, when God put a tune in my mind to go with an encouraging poem. Since then, my love for composing has grown. Peace, is a song that God laid on my heart while I was sitting at my great aunt’s piano, by myself, states away from my family. Truly, it is only the Love of God, that can bring us true peace and rest.
It is hymn style with a choral twist. You may save and distribute it for free, no permission required, unless you wish to arrange it. To view it, click here.
Peace, perfect peace how it fills my soul today,
Just at the remembrance of my Savior’s love.
He is my comfort and my constant stay.
I know he’ll take me to His home above.
Rest, quiet rest, no more do I feel so lost.
Finding such refuge, I cannot worry long.
Knowing that He has for my sins paid the cost.
Knowing that He’ll take me home where I belong.
