A Month of Worship Music | Day 30

This is the last installment in the “A Month of Worship Music” series. I’m relieved that probably the craziest month in my life (literally!) is just about over. At the same time I feel a little a mixed about it. I’ve learned and appreciated so many new songs this month. At the end of August, I made a list of songs for each day this month. Funny thing is, half of those got changed when I wrote the actual posts because I had found new ones that I loved even better and hit home stronger.

I am not afraid of anyone,

because I am BEST FRIENDS with GOD.

And He’s a whole lot bigger than the

entire world COMBINED.

I hope you all enjoyed following along. Thank you. If this is your first time here, welcome! It’s never too late to go back and replay the music.

Stay tuned for the October stuff I have planned… πŸ™‚

A Month of Worship Music | Day 28

I’m doing something different than usual and posting two separate posts today rather than consolidating them into one.

Looking forward, I’m excitedly preparing for #inktober. It’s gonna be great! I love handwriting quotes and words, but it hasn’t been until very recently that I’ve tried drawing portraits with pen. We’ll see where that goes! The concept is the same, but the outcome very different and less detailed than the graphite portraits I’m used to doing.

I don’t like advertising a whole lot. I’m going to boldly do it this time though and recommend you subscribe in the sidebar so you don’t miss any of the upcoming posts! πŸ˜‰

You are everything to God.

A Month of Worship Music | Day 27

I can hardly believe that we’re almost to the end of September. There are only three days left! It’s been an amazing month. Very challenging in so many ways, yet God has worked incredibly. I’m feeling pretty inspired about October – whatever that means. πŸ˜‰

If you’re working, relaxing, stressing out, and/or jumping for joy, remember…

You are loved,

You are whole,

You are complete,

You are enough for

God’s plan.

A Month of Worship Music | Day 22 – 26

Hey there!

Today’s post is going to rather lengthy as we have five songs. And I’m pretty excited about them! I know this is a month of my favorite worship music, so each day previous were favorites, but today is some of my favorites of favorites. πŸ˜€

Excited too? Keep scrolling down!

A Month of Worship Music | Day 9, 10, & 11

Hey y’all! I know that expression sounds pretty southern, but I’m really in the country/southern mood today. Not ashamed to say I’m a born and raised farm girlΒ  and country girl for life! Guess I have to switch gears from country music for a minute cause none of these songs really fit in that genre. πŸ˜€ Hey, it’s a good thing to like multiple styles – can’t get too stuck in the mud! (sorry, just had to throw that in there πŸ˜‰ )

Since today is another catch-up day, I’m sharing three songs again! Live your day right with hope, courage, and the knowledge that you are LOVED!

A Month of Worship Music | Day 4

Here’s an encouraging thought for your day: (even though I’m sure you’ve heard it “too many” times before – hey, it’s timeless! πŸ˜‰ )

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

~ Philippians 3:14 ~

We’re going praise and worship style with our fourth song. It’s calm compared to what a lot of this month’s music will be, but it has such a subtle underlying passion and energy that I absolutely love.

A Month of Worship Music | Day 2

Hey peoples! It’s great to see you up this early in the morning – or maybe it’s night by the time you’re reading this! πŸ˜€ Today is really exciting because… it’s Mandisa!! Okay, maybe your not as excited as I am because she is my favorite singer right now. She has a great voice that moves with such passion. Every song she sings is incredibly powerful. I hope you enjoy it too! Let the truth of her words sink into every part of your being.

Maybe this song can be your inspiration as you get up and ready on this beautiful Sunday morning. Hey, why not worship all day! πŸ™‚

A Month of Worship Music | Day 1

Inspired by a friend and blogger, I thought it’d be a great idea to dedicate September as a month of worship music here at LoveNotes. I love listening to music at literally ALL times of the day so I’m pretty excited to share all of my favorites! Having a playlist of your favorite worship music on your phone is a great way to stay inspired and focused on Jesus all day long. And you can play it anywhere, anytime.

Let’s praise Jesus all month long (and beyond!) and set this world on fire with His love! Unless you already know someone really doesn’t like your music and you playing it all day, share it with them! It may be just what they needed that day or even right at that moment. So make sure to bless someone else!

Dear Younger Self – A Letter to the Girl I Used to be

Hey y’all! I’m back after way too long. I’ve missed talking to you guys. This summer has been crazy but I’m finally learning how to bring some sort of balance to the craziness and squeeze in some time to chat with y’all. I finished school and started working full time. Probably enough explanation. I suppose it’s something a lot of high school grads have to figure out when they enter the workforce. πŸ™‚

Today is kinda different cause I really wanted to write a note to my younger self. If you have a younger person(s) in your life (which I’m sure you do), make sure to take a minute to encourage them, inspire them, tell them the truth about themselves. You don’t know how much that can impact a young mind – world changing!

Dear Younger Self.jpg

**Above: one of my senior pictures. That’s the girl who’s talking. **

I finally got to tell the younger me what I always wished someone would have. Writing it all down was somehow incredibly healing. Almost like I was able to go back in time and give that girl the advice and encouragement she really really wanted. It meant so much to be able to be that person. Yeah, it sounds weird, but that’s okay. πŸ˜€ Continue reading “Dear Younger Self – A Letter to the Girl I Used to be”

How to Deal With Wanting Acceptance | Vibrant Womanhood

technology-3164715_1920

Welcome back to another Bible study, my lovelies. I’m so delighted to see you! Grab your favorite cup of tea (or coffee), curl up in a cozy chair and join the circle of Vibrant Womanhood. Okay, so now that we’re past that stuff, let’s get to the goodies!

One of the Most Basic Things

I’d say the most sought after thing throughout time and history is the longing to be loved. It is an innate desire that each one of has within us from the day we are born whether or not we have even thought about it! From that most certainly comes the desire to be accepted. It’s perfectly natural and nothing to be ashamed of. We like to be liked (introverts too! πŸ™‚ ).

There are a lot of times throughout our days when we may feel alone, like no one cares, or don’t think we have any friends. Sometimes in pursuing God, we lose everything when others don’t understand. We all make sacrifices. “Do people think that’s weird?” “What do they think of that?” I’ve asked myself that a thousand times, wondering if those I know really think good of me. You probably have too. It’s a quite natural thing and the dooming fear of not being liked can be a quite annoying little devil.

Does it Really Matter?

Are these desires good, or are they some more of those evil desires that we are born with and can’t seem to conquer? Actually, I’d dare to say that the answer to both would be, “yes”.

God is love. It’s that simple. We long for him which also means longing for his love. We need to love and to be loved. It is so important. Where the “evil little monster” comes into the picture, is when we cause this to consume our thoughts and minds and become self-centered people who think we have to be noticed and deserve to be loved. None of us deserve it, but we desperately need it.

When You Feel That No One Accepts You. When You Think That No One is There For You.

First of all, let me kindly remind you that you are never alone. No matter how alone you are physically, Jesus is always there for you. He is still there even when He is silent. He loves each of us even before we love Him and when we love Him back! That’s amazing.

“As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.”Β  (John 15:9)

When there truly is no one around you that cares, that may be a strong sign that it is time to move on. Time to let go of what you know and surround yourself with people that will uplift you, encourage you, and be there for you. This may be moving to a different part of the planet, but it also may mean just opening your eyes to the opportunities that are right around you. Jesus doesn’t want you to feel depressed. He wants you to be free as a bird. And that’s exactly what he’s fixing to do.

You don’t always feel that God is right there in the room, and that’s okay. Just know that He is anyway whether he’s talking or moving or sitting silent while you prepare to go answer the door. πŸ˜‰

Let’s Sum This Up

I’ve struggled with the fear of what “others think” for years. It has kept me up at night as my mind replays slightly embarrassing incidents (why do those moments plague me forever? πŸ˜‰ ). I would lay there and pray that that person (or persons) wasn’t weirded out. I hated this and wished I could just change myself to be like everyone else. (They didn’t do anything embarrassing – ahem- cough- they probably thought they did!). In the end, God is good and looking back I know for a fact that those things actually pushed me to achieve greater heights in my passions and I’m better off for it. Nonetheless, I would love not to have to struggle to get there. πŸ˜‰

When we’re not accepted for doing a certain thing or believing certain things, or just being, that hurts. Let’s be real. I can’t change the next person (annoyingly enough! ) and it’s a good thing or it’d mean they had the power to change me.

I’m not going to tell you to ignore the pain and I’m definitely not going to tell you to “just get over it”. That’s nearly impossible and doesn’t help a thing. You can pray for that person, give them a smile or a hug, or whatever you know you can do. Be Jesus to them in whatever way you can. If they don’t seem to notice the effort, that’s okay. It doesn’t mean that it was useless. If nothing else, it can help us heal to do something sweet for a person who is sour.

And if you ever need a listening ear to rant, cry, or just talk random heart things to, shoot me an e-mail. I’m here, and I know many other women of the faith that would always accept you no matter what you’re like. That’s the beauty of what Jesus does. It’s not just you and me – it’s all of us! We’re here together in spirit, connected by the unity of God, family always and forever!

Have a beautiful rest of your week!

xoxo

Melody
