It’s been November for exactly one week. I’m currently loving the fall colors, even with all the recent downpours trying to wash them away! October was a great month with a much needed slightly slower pace. I didn’t blog as much as anticipated, but I feel much of the content wasn’t ready yet and I had to learn to be okay with that. As a fact, I’m still working hard to get a few things (including some pretty cool freebies) ready for y’all. And today is #ThrowbackThursday! How appropriate.
Maybe this month can be your chill month! Don’t over-think things, and spend more time with Jesus. I promise that’s going to make a huge difference.
Devotional journaling is a great way to express what you’re feeling, write down thoughts, prayers, favorite or impact-ful scripture, ideas, and all kinds of other things. I like to use my journal as a space where I can put down anything.
In my previous devotional journals, I wrote a lot of scripture and little thoughts I had about them. But I rarely pick them back up and read them. Why? Because they’re so bland and boring. Not that the content is particularly bland and boring, but each page looks exactly the same. Nothing stands out. I used the same blank ink, the same handwriting, and wrote everything in the same style paragraphs. Continue reading “Devotional Journaling | #Inktober Throwback”
Hey y’all! Summer is just almost here. Can you believe it? Ha ha, maybe it feels like it’s already been here for a while! 😉
I just love when it’s warm outside – so inspiring and amazing. Anyway, I wrote down a fun bucket list for this summer. I made it my own, but you can easily add more if you want to make it your own! Style like you.
There are a lot of super fun ideas as well as things that I’m completely serious need to get done! 😀 Such as, my office/desk area are so in need of help (hint: if y’all have any ideas for me, I would be sooo happy if you shared them with me). Continue reading “The Ultimate Summer Bucket List”
Who likes to live burned out and exhausted? Yeah, I didn’t think anyone did. 😉 Maybe you always feel the need to hurry or you can never get everything done. Sound familiar? Then these tips should help you out!
1. Wake Up Earlier
This has had an amazing impact on my own life. Having an extra half hour or hour in the morning will allow you to feel like you are in control your day rather than your day controlling you.
Make sure you are still getting seven to eight hours of sleep every night. You may need to adjust a little and go to bed earlier too (It isn’t as hard as you think!).
2. Take ten minutes to relax/reflect/pray
Put away your phone or computer or whatever your mind is on, and make the time to totally chill out for ten minutes. This is a great thing to do early in your morning. Refresh you mind and inner self, and you’ll find your brain and body much more inspired, refreshed, and equipped for the great day ahead. Hey ladies! It seems that we are always on the look out for quick easy ways to get trimmer and healthier. I’m not a feminist, but I do think that we tend towards eating healthy more than guys – just sayin’ 😉 (Let me clarify that I’m aware of the many male health and fitness gurus out there…) Whether you’re looking for a slimmer waist line, toned muscle, or having better overall health, hopefully these tips will help you out.
I don’t care what you stick in your mouth, if you are sitting around on your couch 24/7 you will have a very difficult time trying to slim down. Even light exercise will go a long way. Try taking a walk several times a week. If you’re ambitious, gradually transition into a short run at least 2-3x a week.
Other exercises are great and you can do many right in your own home with no equipment. Crunches, squats, and planks, are all ones that I love and definitely work for me. Listen to your body and figure out what works best for you (I think this will be a recurring theme in this post 😉 ). Create a simple routine and stick to it. Don’t build too high goals and expectations from the start or you will quickly burn out. Go slow and steady. Continue reading “Easy Ways to Improve Feminine Health”
Somehow this fast approaching holiday (tomorrow!) is going to bring about roses, red and pink, hearts, and fuzzy feelings. It’s such an adorable time, and I’m even single. Yup, I’m not thinking about having a valentine just quite yet – I’m only seventeen, people!
I imagine there’s a lot more of you like me who are single or going to be alone on Valentine’s Day and not quite sure what to do. If this day is all about romance, and I don’t have any in my life, I may as well sit around and binge watch movies (and finish off a bag of those delectable BBQ chips in the cupboard!). While I might do that, I’d love to do something else and I’m sure you want to as well!
Don’t worry! I’ve scraped together a few ideas for you to do. Maybe, just maybe, this Valentine’s Day isn’t going to be so bad after all. In fact, it’s starting to get quite rosy. 🙂
#1 Pamper Yourself
Grab a few roses, light some candles, and run a bath of herbs or your favorite bubbles. Put a few rose petals on the water to add an extra romantic atmosphere. It’s not about the “love myself” trend, but a beautiful evening of beautiful relaxation. We need those moments, you need those moments! You’ll be pampered from the tips of your toes to the crown of your head. Continue reading “What to do on Valentine’s Day | Single’s Edition”
Art journaling can be so much fun; a creative outlet of expression of the heart. It can be a completely personal and private thing, or something to share and shed light into someone else’s life; the perfect thing to do on a cozy winter evening, curled up in your favorite spot with a cup of hot tea.
Perhaps the best thing about art journaling is that it never has to look perfect. It can be something that is scrawled in five minutes or precisely drawn in 2+ hours. Whichever way, it’s fun.
Since you’re reading this, you probably wish to start art journaling or give an existing one a bit of a face-lift. I would love to share some simple tips that will help you to create something both beautiful and meaningful, to stay focused and inspired, and to find time to do it.
